Title: Lepton Number Violation from the Early Universe to the Laboratory

References:

Abstract:

The origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry and neutrino masses point to new physics which violates lepton number. In this talk, I will explore how lepton-number-violating (LNV) interactions reveal themselves in distant eras of cosmological history: at future lepton colliders and in the very early universe. In the first part of the talk, I will discuss how a future same-sign lepton collider provides an immaculate environment to probe (apparent) lepton number violation through (neutrinophillic scalars) heavy neutral leptons. I will then turn to the early universe, where LNV scattering, induced through the same interaction, can simultaneously produce the observed matter-antimatter asymmetry and dark matter (DM) through ultraviolet freeze-in. Taken together, these studies highlight how the same LNV dynamics may not only have produced the matter-antimatter asymmetry and DM but also leave observable evidence at future colliders.
