Speaker: Prof. Jörn Kersten

 

Abstract: 

I will discuss the gravitational wave signals that can be obtained from an SO(10) Grand Unified Theory with two-step symmetry breaking to the Standard Model. Gravitational waves are produced both by a first-order phase transition and by the primordial plasma of relativistic particles.

Afterwards, I will present model-independent constraints on stochastic gravitational wave backgrounds that can be obtained from the latest interferometer data.
