Title: EFT for BSM via on-shell amplitudes
Speaker: Alex Pomarol (Barcelona, IFAE)
Abstract: I will show how effective theories (EFT) can be described by on-shell amplitudes (instead of Lagrangians). I will also explain how amplitude methods allow to derive one-loop renormalization effects from just tree-level on-shell amplitudes, with no need of loop calculations. Finally, I will discuss how positivity bounds based on unitarity and crossing symmetry can constrain Wilson coefficients, having as an example the special case of large-N theories.
