(A subcomponent of the) Dark Matter may interact more strongly than a typical weakly interacting massive particle. Despite its strong interactions, such DM is difficult to detect in standard searches for WIMP-like dark matter because it is slowed down before reaching detectors underground. These same strong interactions can also enhance the density of a strongly interacting dark matter species near the Earth's surface to well above the local galactic dark matter density. I will describe the existing constraints on a strongly interacting DM species as well as new approaches to discover such DM by accelerating it with fast sources of Standard Model particles.
