Description

Title: Dark Matter: Thermal, Non-thermal and beyond

Speaker: Anirban Biswas (Sogang University)

Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss various kinds of production mechanisms of dark matter. I will start with weakly interacting massive particle (WIMP), a popular candidate of thermal dark matter, and its present status in the light of recent experimental results. Thereafter, I will concentrate on non- thermal dark matter and different types of freeze-in will be discussed. In the next half of my talk, I will show a scenario where the Boltzmann suppression in number density is not responsible for dark matter freeze- out. In this context, I will consider a particular example of hidden sector dark matter and its possible experimental signatures will be presented.
