Title: MeV thermal dark matter, together with the electromagnetic and neutrino sectors
Speaker: Prof. Xiaoyong Chu (HEPHY Vienna)
Abstract: The Universe underwent a series of non-trivial physical processes when its temperature cooled down to below MeV. These processes have been calculated quite precisely in the SM physics, and thus can be used to constrain new physics at the same energy-scale, such as MeV dark matter. This talk discusses the framework that a MeV thermal dark matter can sizeably couple to both electromagnetic plasma and neutrino sector. I will first introduce our self-consistence treatment, to describe the evolution of such a three-sector system with high accuracy. The second half of the talk demonstrates the interesting applications of our treatment to early Universe observables and the 21 cm cosmology.
