Description

Title: Minimal Production of Prompt Gravitational Waves during Reheating

Speaker: Dr. Gongjun Choi (Minnesota U., Theor. Phys. Inst.)

Abstract: In this talk, we discuss unavoidable gravitational wave production mechanisms in any of the standard inflationary models. The mechanism is based on the inflation condensate annihilation. The process occurs after the end of inflation with the inflation oscillation around a minimum of the potential. Until reheating, the process continues. We discuss how the annihilation happens and what information of the early universe physics we may infer from the gravitational wave spectrum resulting from the mechanism.
